Why Hello

This is my first blog entry and it’s weird because I’m very excited about it. First of all to the people who don’t know me or know me well…My name is Alison Weber. I’m from Cooperstown, New York and have been accepted as a rotary youth exchange student to Mexico.
Trying to get into rotary has been both very stressful but worthwhile. I have wanted to go on rotary for about two years now. Now after two years of waiting I’ve been accepted and there are only a few more months before I leave.
Last Friday (May 7, 2010) I received an email from my first host family. I tend to be very impatient and have been anxiously waiting for this email for weeks. I checked my email almost religiously.
I was a little embarrassed because I got this strange email from someone named “Paco Rojas.” I opened the email to find… nothing. It was just a blank email signed Paco. I was both confused and upset, that someone would send me an email titled “Rotary Youth Exchange,” with no message. I emailed him back “??,” later to find out that there was an attached letter. I was a little embarrassed but quickly set it aside because I was so happy to hear from my first host family.
My first host family is made up of: Francisco Rojas Flores (host dad), Blanca Araceli Zarate Téllez (host mom), Emma Rojas Zárate (host sister), Francisco Rojas Zárate (host brother) and Beto Rojas Zárate (younger host brother).
I will be living in Puebla, Puebla Mexico. This means that I’ll be living in Puebla the city of Puebla the state.
I still have about three more months before I leave for Mexico, but I am already very excited and enthusiastic. In the near future I hope to post some information about Puebla and the area I will staying.
